[Power Girl? What would a stranger want to do with him? ...Probably the same thing every other stranger here seems to want with him. Might as well get this over with.

He calls her back as soon as he finishes listening to the message. Ring ring.]

[ She answers almost immediately. It sounds like there's a lot of air filtering into the speaker. ]

Power Girl speaking.

This is Norman Osborn. You called me?

[He pauses when he recognizes the sound of air. It sounds a lot like when May was webswinging across town.] ...Is this a bad time?

Not at all. Just give me a sec.

[ And true to her word, she settles down on a rooftop in De Chima, holding her communicator close like a radio. ]

Thanks for getting back to me.

I figured it must be important or you wouldn't be reaching out to me, considering the fact I can't say I've made your acquaintance.

It is, actually.

[ Where to even start? ]

I know this must be sudden and that you're probably sick of it, but I need to speak to you about Norman Osborn. [ A beat. ] Sr.

[Oh look, he was right.]

Look, so long as you don't start accusing me of being involved with anything my grandfather did, I don't mind talking.

...What did he do now?

[ Not the reaction she had been expecting. ]

... nothing. [ Maybe. Yet. ] See, I'm not familiar with your grandfather's history. I was hoping you could enlighten me.

[Arches an eyebrow, even though he knows she can't see it.]

Clearly he must have done something you found suspicious, or you wouldn't be calling me to ask about my family's history. [...Even if he is the resident genealogist.]

I don't actually know right now.

[ She lets out a sigh. ]

Nobody can give me a straight answer about this Green Goblin business.

Well then allow me to give you one: my grandfather is the Green Goblin.

[Though dear old granddad hasn't explicitly come out said it to him yet, he sure as hell has hinted at it.]

Is he terrorizing someone other than Spider-Man for a change?

Someone I care about was arrested a while back. She was committing different crimes, going by the name "Hobgoblin". Does that sound familiar to you?

[More like no love lost.]

Hobgoblin wasn't associated with the Osborn's back home. He's a scumbag named Roderick Kingsley. In fact, my grandfather hated... [There's a pause, followed by a half-crazed laugh.] Of course. He's most likely trying to take ownership of the name for himself. He was never big on pretenders.

What happened with this Hobgoblin--I believe you said it was a she? What did she do?

I'm going to link you something.

[ And she does a moment later. ]

She committed a number of crimes, including assaulting her own girlfriend. I've known her for a while and I find it difficult to believe she would ever turn into a supervillain or do most of that unprompted.

She's not from your world either, so I'm not sure how she came up with the name or where she got the weapons from. She's not particularly tech savvy.

[He's quiet as he skims through what Power Girl links. He recognizes that voice. It's the girl who wouldn't give him a straight answer. The more he sees, the more sick to his stomach he gets.

Finally he mumbles:] Grandpa what did you do....

[He takes a moment to compose himself, then speaks into the receiver.] Sorry about that... I...

This girl, Kanaya, did she know my grandfather at all? He's got this way of getting into your head, but... I thought that was something he only did to his family. [Even then, though, this seems powerful, even for him.]

As for the weapons... Did she have a glider? Use pumpkin bombs or, oh what were they called... razor-tipped bats?

She seems to have some connection to him. [ A beat. ] ... there were pumpkin-themed bombs.

I didn't hear anything about a slider or bats. I'll need to check with my ally, but the bombs are what stood out to us. Kanaya's a seamstress... not a bomb maker.

Pumpkin bombs are practically a Green Goblin trademark. As is the glider. If you still happen to have one, I could take it apart to check. I'm... familiar with my grandfather's designs.

I'll keep it in mind if we find one.

Can you tell me a bit about your relationship with him?

[He sighs. Normally he'd rather not talk about his private life with a total stranger, he understands where the question is coming from, and figures honesty is the best move here.] It's... complicated. When I was a child I adored him. He came into my life after my father died, and while I can recognize he was just manipulating me now, I was barely in Kindergarten at the time. Shortly after he came back into my life, he died again, and I grew up thinking it was my duty to follow in his footsteps.

Luckily I had someone snap me out of that before it got out of hand.

I don't have anything concrete, honestly. A lot of it is largely speculation, something I hate to admit.

But his name did come up, weapons he used as this Green Goblin did as well, and Kanaya using a similar name is worrying. I realize he's not the most popular guy here either.

[ And Normie got the brunt of that, apparently. ]

Do you think he could have manipulated someone into committing these crimes?

I will say that from what I can gather, my grandfather had it out for Kingsley for stealing his equipment and crazy shtick. I can easily see him figuring the name belonged to him as a result. He was quite... possessive.

But... could he do this?.... Honestly, I don't know. Like I said, he died for good when I was young, and as far as I know all of his head-games were reserved for my father and me, his heirs. If he is, I wouldn't be surprised in the least; it's just the "how" that's giving me pause.

There's also the fact that your grandfather has been nothing but on his best behavior from what I hear.

[ Oh my god he works for her and he's an ex-supervillain.
