When May and I got here, she... kind of let some things slip about my future that I'm not too happy about knowing. Not because It bothered me to learn them, but because I know there's nothing I can do to prevent any of it.

... Yeah. I mean, there's a chance... that things can go differently. Just because someone tells you the future that they know, doesn't mean things are concrete. But I'd be bothered by that, too.

Yeah, I know. But it's more the helplessness. I can't take this knowledge back with me in the hopes that if things do start to go that way, I can change them.

Isn't it the same problem though, in a way? You have this knowledge that you could, in theory, pass off to Sora... to help change your timeline for the better... only it wouldn't help either one of you, since he wouldn't remember it when he got back.

Yeah. And I don't know if even if he remembered, would it change my past? Or just his future? If you subscribe to that many-worlds theory, then if Sora changed something, he could branch off into a different timeline than I'm in.

Did I ever tell you that pretty much all of the people I know of from back home are from a completely different timeline from me?

Yeah. I'm named after my grandfather and my father. Norman Harold. But back on topic, yes, he's definitely from a timeline where he didn't die.

They all seem to be from that one, as far as I can tell.

No, I just meant the same as you are now. I mean, if they recognized you, then you're obviously there, in some capacity.

So then, if you're eight, then they're sort of earlier than you are?

No, it's definitely different. Certain people from my universe, who would have been born by then don't exist. [*cough*May*cough*] My grandfather's history has been.... heavily altered.

No, it's different altogether.

Wow. I mean, with the people from my world, one of them had been completely erased from everyone's memory until we got here. But nobody's stories... don't match up like that.

I know alternate timelines are possible. A friend of mine's been sent to one where some of the people closest to them were all evil.

But it's one thing to hear about it, and another to experience it.
