Honestly, I don't go home much.

Not at all. It's kind of a two fold thing... first, my job at OsCorp takes up a lot of my time, and that's in De Chima, so sometimes I don't want to walk back to the porter.

The other is, well, people in my house don't tend to stay very long. It's disconcerting walking through the door and finding a bunch of strangers once a month.

Huh... well, if that's the case, you can always move.

[He tilts his head a little. He can understand how strange that might be. He's had a few lineup changes himself at the house. Kang and Riku himself seem to be the only constants -- there was Mandrake before, and then Kakashi, and now Marty, but who knows how long he would be there.]

If you lived in De Chima, we might run into each other offline a little more. [Cuz Riku's boyfriend lives there.]

I know, I know. Trust me, it's something I've thought about before. I've been on the fence about the whole thing.

Then, uh, I lost a whole month.

I feel like, if you're that uncomfortable there, you should do it.

[He smiles quietly.]

Yeah, I know. I was there.

It's, well... that's where May was, however brief.

Ah... I see.

[He gets that. Sora lived right next door to him while he was here, and it's weird looking out his window at the house and thinking about how he isn't there.]

Well, that's all right, then.

Yeah, but I also can't be dwelling on that either.

No. It's okay to... need to for a while, though. I feel the same about Sora.

But at least Sora was here recently, though. May's been gone a long time.

Yeah. I... did you get to see her when you were home?

...No. Back home, we were both at a point in our lives where our paths didn't cross much. Not that we had a falling out or anything, but she was doing her thing and I was doing mine, and there just wasn't much overlap.

[He read about her exploits in the paper, though. But as Riku doesn't know about her spider side, he keeps that to himself.]

I see.

[He hums, considering.]

I don't know if I told you this, but Sora and Kairi and I were apart for a really long time. We came back together, though. I think you guys can do that, too.

Well, when May was here, briefly, the last time... She was from the future. Well, my future. So I know our paths cross again.

The problem is I can't be there for her like I used to be. And I don't mean that in a bad way or anything, like putting myself down, I mean that physically. I've been too busy with Brenda and taking over the family business.

I think, though, that... once you've settled into a routine with your business and all that, it'll be easier to make time. I mean, I get it being hectic, but...

[Nods.]

Maybe. But that's still there. Honestly, I'd rather focus on here.

Yeah. Well, maybe she'll show up again sometime.

I don't know if I want her to. Being stuck here is... weird.

... Yeah. I mean, Sora's been here and gone home, but... I kind of hope I don't see Kairi here. Or Sora again, even. I miss them, but them being here would be... bittersweet, I guess.

Bittersweet's the perfect word to describe my feelings about it too.

Yeah. I mean... the Sora that was here last was way behind me. He still had stuff to finish. He can't really get that done if he's here.

But he will do it. The fact that you're from his future proves that.

Yeah, of course. I... didn't necessarily want to tell him all that, though.

I don't blame you.

When May and I got here, she... kind of let some things slip about my future that I'm not too happy about knowing. Not because It bothered me to learn them, but because I know there's nothing I can do to prevent any of it.
